Sweet design website

I've been thinking about some web designs, obviously. I wanted to do a design that relies on side scrolling, set up in a left-to-right direction, so you would have to use a bottom scroll bar to scroll to the right. Anyway, I like this website which uses a similiar type of deal, a photo of a musician's face is split in half and edited in photoshop so that the right half of the photo looks like a monstrous zombie. It is a little awkward to design a website for a widescreen monitor, because not everyone has a widescreen monitor. But, wide websites give more room to play with. If I designed a side scrolling website, I don't want any of the right part of the site showing when you first get to the site, because it would change the balance of the website's design. I am going to check out other websites and how they solved this design problem.
